What You'll Get to Do

The CAD Tech Engineer is responsible for drafting and detailing all computer aided drawings to support design engineering in the development of new or modified product design including extrusion, assembly, bills of material and fabrication drawings.

Job Responsibilities

  •   Assist Design Engineering in 2D or 3D by accurately detailing new product designs or updating and modifying existing products as directed by the design team while working within the required timelines or deadlines
    • Detailing extrusions, components, and hardware drawings
    • Detailing fabrication and part process drawings
    • Detailing glass and glazing designs
    • Detailed assembly and glazing instruction drawings
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the manufacturing team as well as inter-departmental customers including but not limited to design, application and production engineering
  • Learn design, production, and application engineering process in conjunction with the manufacturing process
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

  • Associate's degree in engineering or technical school graduate or equivalent with AutoCAD experience
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (manual drafting principles, practices, methods a plus)
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and cutting, milling and fabrication equipment
  • Work and perform independently and as an integral team member as projects dictate
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Manage multiple tasks or schedules with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
