Position Summary

The Depot & Deployment Engineer is responsible for the configuration, staging, deployment, and support of end-user technology and network infrastructure for Entech partners. This role prepares and repairs computers, laptops, printers, and related hardware in the depot, manages inventory and asset tracking, and performs onsite deployments to ensure a seamless partner experience. The Depot & Deployment Engineer also assists with network equipment configuration, including loading and validating configurations on firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Configure, stage, deploy, and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and related technology equipment.
  • Prepare hardware to partner specifications and Entech standards.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including component failures and performance concerns.
  • Deploy and install equipment onsite, including user setup, profile migrations, and hardware replacements.
  • Configure and deploy network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Manage hardware inventory, shipping, receiving, asset tracking, and stock levels.
  • Maintain an organized, secure, and efficient depot environment.
  • Document configurations, deployments, and asset information in ConnectWise. 

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral hardware. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 environments. 
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, switching, wireless networking, and firewall fundamentals. 
  • Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to configure, stage, and deploy endpoint and network infrastructure equipment. 

Education

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field preferred. 
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience may be considered.


Experience

  • 2+ years of experience configuring, deploying, repairing, and supporting computer hardware in a business environment.
  • Experience imaging, configuring, and deploying Windows workstations and laptops.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, and warranty repairs. 
  • Experience deploying and configuring network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. 
  • Experience loading and validating configuration files on network devices. 
  • Experience working with inventory management, asset tracking, and equipment staging. 
  • Experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment preferred. 
  • Experience working directly with end users and business clients during onsite deployments.
