Job description

Overview

MU Aqua Engineering Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Mega Union, a Taiwan-based company specializing in water treatment system services and semiconductor process water solutions.

We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, startup, and optimization of water treatment systems. This role will assist with system inspection, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and site coordination to ensure project execution meets safety, quality, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for water treatment systems, including pure water, wastewater, and related process systems.
  • Perform system inspections to verify piping, equipment, instrumentation, and electrical installation completeness and correctness.
  • Assist with deficiency tracking, punch list follow-up, testing, troubleshooting, and system startup activities.
  • Support water-filling tests, pneumatic and hydraulic pressure tests, equipment inspection, and related commissioning tests.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning records, test reports, progress updates, meeting materials, and client reports.
  • Review construction drawings and technical documents to ensure alignment with site conditions and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to support smooth project execution.
  • Assist with site work planning, material/equipment coordination, procurement requests, and internal document submissions.
  • Ensure all work follows project specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.
  • When commissioning activities are limited, support Site Engineer-related tasks, including site coordination, construction follow-up, and field documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome; internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in engineering, commissioning, construction, water treatment, semiconductor, or industrial projects is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, piping systems, equipment installation, instrumentation, or water treatment processes is preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, P&ID, process flow diagrams, piping layouts, or related technical documents is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in a hands-on, fully on-site project environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural, and cross-functional project environment.
