The Opportunity

As a dedicated General Lines Account Manager II (Entry level), you will work within defined guidelines and frameworks to advise business owners and commercial clients on risk management strategies, insurance program design, coverage analysis, and tailored commercial insurance solutions. Leverage commercial insurance products and marketplace expertise to address unique risk exposures, evaluate coverage needs, and develop customized risk management solutions. Secures appropriate coverage by utilizing knowledge of the insurance marketplace, carrier relationships, underwriting guidelines, and policy structures.

Start date for this position is October 18th.

  • 14 weeks of virtual training 8:00am โ€“ 4:30pm CT
  • Work schedule after training with be 9:30am โ€“ 6:00pm CT.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What you'll do:

  • Utilizes a consultative approach to determine customer needs, build rapport, and provide solutions across 5 or more carriers, including USAA, to offer options and fulfill members unique needs and exposures.
  • Build and maintain relationships between members, nonmembers and insurance carriers, exercising effective technical knowledge and communication skills.
  • Utilizes understanding of compliance and insurance standards and Agency Management Systems to limit agency Errors & Omissions (E&O) exposure through proper documentation.
  • Classifies membersโ€™ and/or non-membersโ€™ business and provides accurate risk management and risk mitigation solutions.
  • Facilitates periodic account reviews by leveraging the carrier renewal cycle and understanding the members' and nonmembers' risk profile to provide consultative advice and appropriately address and mitigate risk.
  • Partners and negotiates with underwriters on endorsements, renewal questions, and remarkets for underwriting determination (approval or declination) leveraging intermediate knowledge of Carrier guidelines and processes.
  • Provides select account service including policy changes, certificates, endorsements, renewals, non-renewals, and remarkets, cancellations, reinstatements, and record updates within agency systems.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

What you have:

  • 1 year of experience managing, retaining, servicing, and expanding commercial insurance relationships in an agency or broker setting.
  • Demonstrated product and underwriting knowledge to serve members across a national distribution footprint.
  • Experience using Agency Management Systems (AMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and multiple carrier platforms.
  • Knowledge of estimating/calculating Insurance to Value (ITV) across a wide range of commercial property types and structures.
  • Demonstrated communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience documenting customer interactions in CRM systems and effectively managing opportunities through the customer lifecycle.
  • Experience in supporting retention efforts by identifying coverage gaps, recommending solutions, and uncovering cross-sell opportunities.
  • Experience working in a goal-oriented environment with individual performance expectations.
  • Valid General Lines Insurance License for home state and/or ability to obtain home state and multistate licenses within 90 days.
  • Develop proficiency in coverage interpretation and policy servicing while delivering exceptional customer experience.
  • Support retention efforts by identifying coverage gaps, recommending solutions, and uncovering cross-sell opportunities.
  • Effectively document customer interactions and account activity within agency and CRM systems.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships through additional insurance solutions and risk management recommendations.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $48,340.00 - $86,630.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
