About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Analyst to join our team in Chicago.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to build a foundation in commercial real estate, finance, market research, and portfolio strategy while working with leading corporate occupiers across the U.S. and globally.
In this role, you'll support transaction teams, portfolio strategists, and client leaders by analyzing lease data, building financial models, and helping clients make smarter real estate decisions.
We're looking for someone who is intellectually curious, highly analytical, strong in Excel, and excited to learn the financial and strategic drivers behind corporate real estate decisions.
What You'll Do
As a Commercial Real Estate Analyst, you will:
  • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models supporting:
    • Lease vs. own analyses
    • Renewal vs. relocation scenarios
    • Occupancy cost forecasting
    • Sublease and disposition analyses
    • Portfolio optimization studies
  • Analyze lease terms, rental obligations, operating expenses, escalations, and occupancy costs across office, industrial, and retail portfolios.
  • Support transaction and portfolio teams with financial comparisons, scenario analyses, and strategic recommendations.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, dashboards, quarterly reports, and portfolio reviews.
  • Review lease and financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting systems.
  • Support portfolio reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Learn and apply lease accounting concepts including ASC 842 and other real estate financial standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the U.S. and global teams to support client deliverables.
  • Conduct market research using internal databases, broker reports, public records, and industry sources to support brokerage.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics, or a related analytical field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, real estate, consulting, or other analytical roles (internships included).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or coursework in commercial real estate, finance, accounting, or corporate strategy.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, lease analysis, and accounting concepts.
  • Exposure to tools such as:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Power BI
    • AI Tools (Claude)
    • CoStar
    • LeaseCalcs
