Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Industrial Engineering . This position will be located at our Space sector in Goleta, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in set up, scale up, and optimization of production areas by determining most efficient sequence of operations, workflow, and work cell design/layout
  • Generate Value Stream Maps and analyze production data to implement metrics that measure safety, quality, delivery, employee, and cost performance
  • Contribute to plans that ensure availability of labor, facilities, equipment, and tooling resources
  • Help standardize processes and participate in cross functional teams to implement continuous improvements in topics such as production output, inventory control, quality assurance, and cost reduction
  • Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to communicate status, gather input, and align with production priorities

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Have completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) from an accredited institution
  • Majored in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge (VSM, kanban, 5S, etc.), including coursework or project experience in a manufacturing environment (internship, co-op, project, or work experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel (Project and Visio a plus)
  • Data analysis skills & data minded decision making
  • Enthusiastic, proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and experience working in teams

Salary Range:

$69,400 to $104,000

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,400.00 - $104,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
