Truman Parkway Annapolis, MD 21401; Brooklyn Park Office, 300 Hammonds Lane Brooklyn Park, MD 21225 Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: Environmental Health Specialist I starting at $54,001 per year; Environmental Health Specialist II starting at $59,612 per year Benefits: Participation in the County's group health plan (including prescription, dental, and optical), paid holidays and sick leave. Nature of Work:
The Environmental Health Specialist I position is entry level work involving inspection, investigation and code enforcement to obtain compliance with various environmental health laws, codes, ordinances and standards. The Environmental Health Specialist II position is professional full performance level work involving inspection, investigation and code enforcement to obtain compliance with various environmental health laws, codes, ordinances and standards. The vacancy exists in the Food Protection Services Program and the position is responsible for inspection and licensing of permanent, mobile and temporary food service facilities. Duties will also involve complaint investigations for food service facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in biological, environmental, or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
License or Certification:
  • Specialist I: Must possess a Certificate of Eligibility to be licensed as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland State Board of Environmental Health Specialists. Download the
