Job description

Job title: CNC Machinist
Reports to: CNC Foreman/Shop Foreman
Supervisory responsibilities: None.
Summary/objective: Advanced Tooling Systems (ATS) is seeking an entry-level CNC Machinist to join their team! The employee will work on the small mill - running the machine and doing their own programming. This role provides on-the-job training with opportunities for growth.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience, but we welcome those with limited experience to apply as well.
Essential functions:
  • Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.
  • Ability to learn to perform your own programming and running your details.
  • Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required.
  • Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results.
  • Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours.
  • Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required.

Required competency, education, and experience:
  • Basic CNC operating experience (ideally 1 year)
  • Basic knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.
  • Candidate must have high school or equivalent education.
  • Candidate must have valid driver's license

Preferred education and experience:
  • Programming experience using Gibbs Cam

Work environment: Manufacturing environment
Physical demands:
  • Candidate must have full use of all limbs.
  • Candidate must be able to read and speak English.
  • Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Position type and expected hours of work: Full time - day shift. Some overtime might be required.
Travel: None.
