Role Description

MK Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our team in San Jose, CA. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

The CNC Programmer / Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision components according to customer drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs using Mastercam and SOLIDWORKS/CAMWorks, reviewing technical drawings and blueprints, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, setting up machines, performing test runs, and making necessary program or machine adjustments.

The position also involves inspecting finished parts, maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards, troubleshooting machining and programming issues, and managing jobs from initial setup through completed production.

Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and/or SOLIDWORKS/CAMWorks
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, feeds, and machining methods
  • Perform machine setups and test runs
  • Troubleshoot CNC programs, setups, and machining issues
  • Make adjustments as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Maintain quality and production standards
  • Keep machines and work areas clean and organized
  • Follow shop safety procedures
  • Work independently while collaborating with a small team when needed

Qualifications

  • Previous CNC machining and/or CNC programming experience
  • Experience with Mastercam
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS and/or CAMWorks
  • CNC milling and machine setup experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Understanding of machining tolerances, tooling, speeds, and feeds
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
