We are looking for a KOMO CNC Operator for our 2nd shift. This position operates a KOMO CNC Routing Machine - a machine that produces contoured plywood parts. The operator should be familiar with its safety features and guidelines and have a keen eye for quality. The position also involves the upkeep and maintenance of the machine area. The operator will also coordinate and work closely with the previous shift to determine any needs that may arise regarding changeover.

Essential Functions:
  1. Start up and shut down of the machine.
  2. Understand the programing of the KOMO CNC Routing Machine work-centers along with how to locate and maneuver the programs needed to operate the machine.
  3. Understand the machines codes or can learn this.
  4. Change bits and able to re-order bits or sharpen blades. Change drill bits and flush mill bits.
  5. Communicate with QA to review parts or quality issues.
  6. Conduct basic maintenance on the KOMO work-centers.
  7. Familiar with all emergency shut offs and stops/resets.
  8. Understand the self-lubricating mechanism on the machine.
  9. Understand and follow the enhanced dispatch list.
  10. Enter ECO's (internal system to request changes) and put in maintenance requests.
  11. Change between all materials as necessary.
  12. Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
  13. Hours are typically from 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday
Additional Functions:
  1. May be responsible for training others on the KOMO's operation.
  2. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for safety purposes in an understandable manner.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good understanding of the metric system as well as the metric tools necessary to operate the machine.
  • Good communication skills required to ensure communication between shifts.
  • Ability to read CAD drawing/blueprints.
  • Prior CNC experience preferred.
  • Some familiarity with Word, Excel, etc. preferable.
Working Conditions:Our production environment is typical for wood manufacturing and includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust, and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold. Worker may be subject to vibration. Worker is subject to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles and/or heat.Physical Requirements:

Production positions are physically demanding and may be strenuous. They are standing positions and include frequent walking, lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. There are a lot of body movements, including extending arms, grasping with hands, and flexing of wrists. There may be a lot of bending and twisting. Each position requires ongoing rotations of movements and workers must have the physicality to perform the essential functions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 150 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
