ENTRY LEVEL CNC - Grinder position - Get your foot in the door in a booming industry! | WEEKLY PAY

Job Description

This entry-level role offers hands-on training on honing and CNC grinding machines, supporting production of precision parts for the defense industry. You will start on basic honing equipment, learn to use measurement tools, and progress into CNC grinding as your primary responsibility, with long-term opportunities to expand your machining skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic honing machines to finish metal components according to specifications.
  • Learn and perform machine setup on honing equipment under guidance from experienced operators.
  • Use measurement tools to verify part dimensions and quality throughout the production process.
  • Train on CNC grinding machines and learn how to perform setups on these machines.
  • Run CNC grinding equipment to grind parts to precise tolerances for defense-related applications.
  • Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards at all times.
  • Perform repetitive, detail-oriented grinding tasks while maintaining focus and consistency.
  • Monitor machines during operation, identify basic issues, and communicate concerns to supervisors or maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area around grinding and honing machines.

  • Comfort with monotonous, repetitive work while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Basic mechanical understanding and ability to work with metal parts and industrial machinery.
  • Capability to learn and correctly use measurement tools to check part dimensions.
  • Willingness to work in a small, older, and somewhat greasy shop environment.
  • Reliability in attending a 1st shift schedule from Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to take direction from experienced machinists and trainers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred: Some prior CNC machining experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in fabrication or working with metal in a production environment.
  • Interest in building a long-term career in CNC machining and machine setup.
  • Ability to work independently once trained, while also collaborating effectively with the team.

Work Environment

You will work primarily on honing and CNC grinding machines and regularly handle metal parts and measurement tools. The position follows a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in the schedule.
