Job description

Job Title: Laser OperatorJob Description

This role focuses on setting up and operating a 15k fiber laser cutting machine, ensuring efficient production, accurate cuts, and a clean, safe work area within a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and run a 15k fiber laser cutting machine, specifically a Mazak fiber laser, according to job specifications.
  • Configure and operate laser cutting machines to produce parts that meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Operate the load/unload system to safely and efficiently move sheet materials to and from the laser cutting equipment.
  • Pull sheet materials using a forklift and stage them for production runs.
  • Maintain the laser machines and surrounding areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Perform tasks and provide support in other departments as needed to assist overall production operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate setup and cutting operations.
  • Lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more as required for machine setup and material handling.
  • Participate in offsite training for approximately one week to enhance skills and knowledge related to laser setup and operation.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience setting up a laser, with fiber laser experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and running laser cutting machines.
  • Ability to operate a load/unload system for laser cutting equipment.
  • Ability to pull and move materials using a forklift.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds or more safely and repeatedly.
