Job description

Job Summary:
Accenture Federal Services is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the US federal government through innovative technology solutions. The Cloud DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure cloud-based systems and applications, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements while collaborating with development teams to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure cloud-based systems and applications, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Build, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud-native (IAC) applications in AWS environments
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
• Create and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell to streamline operations and deployments
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements, including NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle
• Implement and maintain security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security
• Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications and services
• Work with a variety of cloud native tools to add capabilities and secure the platform
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across all layers of the technology stack
• Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure
• Establish and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security best practices
• Reduce deployment time and increase deployment frequency through automation
• Improve system reliability, availability, and security through infrastructure as code
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of DevSecOps practices
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation to ensure efficient knowledge sharing
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and security best practices
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and security posture
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3 years of experience in DevOps engineering or cloud platform engineering
• 3 years of experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) or CentOS administration
• 3 years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or similar) and CLI
• 3 years of experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
• 2 years of experience troubleshooting DNS, VPN, HTTPS, and/or networking configurations
• 3 years of experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting and automation technologies
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+, CISSP, CASP, etc.) or DoD 8140 equivalent
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS, ECR, etc.)
• Strong Linux system administration skills, particularly with RHEL/CentOS
• Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and automation (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices
• Understanding of network architecture: VPC design, hybrid connectivity, security groups, load balancing
• Experience with security hardening and compliance implementation in cloud environments
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting system implementation
• Excellent communication skills in both written and oral formats
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to execute autonomously and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or 4 years of relevant job or military experience in lieu of degree
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty)
• Experience implementing security controls in cloud environments
• Experience with containerization orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
• Experience with National Security systems and Air-Gapped Environments
• Active Top-Secret Clearance, preferred with SCI eligibility. Must be willing to undergo a polygraph examination if necessary.
