Electra is reinventing ironmaking from the ground up with a breakthrough electrochemical technology that produces high-purity, clean iron and critical co-minerals. With two operating pilots in Boulder and a new demonstration facility underway in Jefferson County, we're on track to reach commercial scale by the end of the decade. Backed by over $300 million and strategic partnerships with global leaders across mining, steel, and big tech, momentum is on our side.  Recognized by Fast Company as a Most Innovative Company and a Next Big Thing in Tech, and named one of TIME's 100 Climate Leaders, we're building a company shaping the future of industry. If you're looking to make an impact and join a team that's driven, focused, and scaling, we want to hear from you.

What you will do:

Electra is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Test Technician I to support basic testing operations in a laboratory and pilot-scale environment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with foundational technical skills who are eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced, innovation-driven organization. The Test Technician I will assist in executing test procedures, maintaining equipment, and collecting data under the supervision of senior technical staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in setting up and operating laboratory and pilot-scale equipment
  • Record test data accurately and maintain detailed logs of procedures and results
  • Support equipment cleaning, calibration, and basic maintenance tasks
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Communicate test observations and issues to senior technicians and engineers
  • Assist in inventory management of lab supplies and consumables
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data and observations
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technical skills
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Ability to organize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required for the role
  • Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and a commitment to safe work practices

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • 1+ years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment
  • Internship or vocational training experience is beneficial
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems and tools
  • Basic safety training (e.g., OSHA 10)
  • Technical certificate or coursework in engineering technology, chemistry, or a related field

Compensation:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $21.00-$26.00 per hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.

Benefits For You:

  • $1,800 in annual employer HSA contributions (health savings account)

Benefits For Your Family:

  • 100% paid premiums across all medical, dental, vision, and telemedicine plans
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave

Benefits For Your Future:
