Bartlett Regional Hospital is looking for a Patient Registration Specialist to join our Patient Access Services team!
Pay Information:
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
  • PRS 1 starts at $21.59 per hour.
  • PRS 2 starts at $23.63 per hour.
  • PRS 3 starts at $24.81 per hour.

Please Note: In lieu of fringe benefits, Casual employees will receive a $2.00 per hour differential in addition to their hourly rate.
Job Summary:
PRS 1: This role is an entry-level position responsible for supporting basic front-line registration and customer service tasks in the hospital. Under close supervision, this role will learn to perform patient registration, verify insurance information and provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate data collection and positive patient experience at the point of entry.
PRS 2: Patient Registration Specialist 2 performs the registration tasks independently. They are responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient information, insurance coverage, and financial requirements to support patient care and timely billing.
PRS 3: The PRS 3 performs a broad range of front-line administrative duties to support patient access, coordination, and hospital revenue processes. Responsibilities include patient registration, insurance verification, benefit authorization, and point-of-service collections. This level also operates the hospital switchboard, monitors safety alarms, and provides customer service to patients and visitors of a higher acuity (emergency, international).
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
PRS 1:
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred Experience: Previous clerical or customer service preferred.
  • License(s): None
  • Certification(s): None

PRS 2:
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience.
    • Substitution: 6 months performing an administrative role or PRS1 at BRH.
      • Preferred Experience: Previous clerical or customer service in a medical setting preferred
  • License(s): None
  • Certification(s): None

PRS 3:
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Two (2) years of clerical or customer service experience
    • Substitution: 6 months PRS2 at BRH or in hospital patient registration at another facility.
  • License(s): None
  • Certification(s): None
