Job description

About Revive EnvironmentalRevive Environmental is a mission-driven, early-stage environmental technology company delivering rapid, permanent solutions for PFAS and other persistent environmental contaminants. Our flagship Annihilator™ systems are built on patented supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology and are setting a new standard for destruction of PFAS-laden waste streams.Revive is a startup. We operate with the speed, resourcefulness, and hands-on ownership that early-stage companies require, and every member of our team plays a direct role in scaling a technology built to solve one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead process engineering development across Revive's technology portfolio, with particular emphasis on the Annihilator 2.0 platform now moving toward commissioning. This role owns the continuing optimization of fielded systems as well as engineering development for next-generation designs as Revive transitions to a scalable technology platform. The Sr. Process Engineer will be a central technical contributor to Annihilator 2.0, working closely with the operations and technology teams to bring the platform through commissioning and into reliable field performance.Working location is Columbus, OH.What to Expect at a Growing StartupRevive is small, moving fast, and building something that does not yet exist anywhere else. That work does not fit neatly into a fixed schedule. This role calls for real ownership of outcomes rather than hours worked, and the person in this position should expect the effort required, particularly around commissioning milestones, field events, and emergent operational issues, to extend beyond the standard day. We aim to be direct about that expectation up front, because the candidates who thrive at Revive are the ones who choose it with open eyes.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Engineering Across Revive's Technology PortfolioLead process engineering design and development across Revive's technology offerings, including Annihilator SCWO systems, with a current focus on Annihilator 2.0, and the GAC RENEW platform, from PFDs and P&IDs through heat and mass balances, equipment sizing, and process simulations.Serve as a core engineering resource for Annihilator 2.0 commissioning, supporting startup, troubleshooting, and performance validation as the platform comes online.Drive continuing optimization and improvement of fielded systems to increase throughput, improve uptime, and extend maintenance cycles.Support engineering development of new and next-generation technology offerings as Revive's platform expands.Perform thermodynamic and kinetic modeling of SCWO reactions, including PFAS mineralization and salt behavior.Specify and size major equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, valves, blowdown systems, and instrumentation.Provide responsive engineering support to operations for troubleshooting, performance tuning, and resolving emergent issues across the Annihilator fleet, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Process Safety ProgramContribute to and lead parts of Revive's process safety program, including development and maintenance of PHAs, HAZOPs, and safety procedures.Establish and maintain a management of change (MOC) discipline across engineering and operations.Develop and maintain process safety information documentation, including chemical hazard data, equipment specs, and operating limits.Champion a proactive safety culture.Required Qualifications10+ (preferably 15+) years experience in process engineering design, preferably in high-pressure, high-temperature, or hazardous waste treatment systems.Strong safety record.Strong background in thermal reaction systems, heat integration, and fluid mechanics.Excellent problem-solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.Comfort operating in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment where priorities shift as the business scales.Preferred QualificationsExperience with SCWO, wet air oxidation, or hydrothermal processing.Familiarity with PFAS chemistry, AFFF treatment, or salt-laden wastewater.Experience with modular skid-based systems and field deployment of process equipment.Experience with fabrication, manufacturing, and good lab practices.Experience working with small teams and/or in technology scaling and optimization. Why Join ReviveContribute directly to solving one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.Play a defining role in bringing Annihilator 2.0 through commissioning and into commercial operation.Work alongside an agile, mission-driven team combining deep science with practical field engineering.Be at the center of scaling up one of the first proven PFAS destruction systems to national and international markets.Competitive compensation and growth opportunities in a fast-scaling cleantech company.
