Is CCNA changing in 2026?

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

An Entry Level CCNA Routing and Switching technician typically does not earn $10,000 a month without significant experience or advanced certifications. High-paying network engineering roles or specialized IT positions can reach that level, but they usually require relevant skills, certifications, and experience beyond entry-level. Most jobs in this salary range demand advanced technical knowledge and proven expertise in networking or related fields.

What is the difference between Entry Level Ccna Routing Switching vs Network Technician?

AspectEntry Level Ccna Routing SwitchingNetwork Technician
CertificationsCCNA Routing and SwitchingOften CCNA or similar certifications
Work EnvironmentData centers, enterprise networks, ISPsCorporate offices, data centers, field sites
Job FocusConfiguring, troubleshooting routers and switchesMaintaining, troubleshooting network hardware and connectivity
Common EmployersTelecom companies, ISPs, large enterprisesIT service providers, corporate IT departments

Both roles involve network hardware, but Entry Level Ccna Routing Switching focuses on configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches, often requiring CCNA certification. Network Technicians perform broader hardware maintenance and troubleshooting across various network devices. While overlapping, the CCNA certification emphasizes routing and switching skills, making it more specialized for network configuration roles.

What jobs can I get with just a CCNA?

Entry-level roles such as network technician, network support specialist, or help desk technician often require a CCNA certification. These positions involve configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure using Cisco devices and networking protocols. Additional skills in hardware, software, and customer service can enhance job prospects.

Is CCNA still worth in 2026?

The CCNA Routing and Switching certification remains valuable for entry-level network roles, as it demonstrates foundational knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and Cisco devices. Despite evolving technology, many employers still recognize CCNA as a relevant credential, especially when combined with practical skills in configuring and troubleshooting networks. Staying current with networking trends and gaining hands-on experience can enhance job prospects in this field.
