Your future role at a glance

Location: Elk Grove Village, ILFacility: Ascension Alexian BrothersDepartment: Respiratory Care Schedule: Evening shift l Full-time

Sign-on bonus: Up to $5,000.00

Salary range: $32.15 - $44.82 per hour

How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Therapy Implementation & Monitoring: Implement the patient care plan, continuously monitor patient response and associated respiratory equipment, and competently perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Documentation & Communication: Accurately monitor and record patient conditions, and effectively communicate any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Quality & Outcomes: Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on defined patient outcomes.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to all emergency resuscitation team code calls.
What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date. New graduates must have receipt of payment for application to Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) upon hire.
  • Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred. New grads must have proof of passing entry level exam, Cert Radiologic Technologist. Proof can include; passing scores, cert from the National Board for Respiratory Care or letter from the National Board for Respiratory Care stating passing of exam.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
