CPA - Staff Accountant

An innovative, local CPA firm seeks another dynamic team member eager to grow in their career and deliver outstanding client service in a flexible, relaxed, and family-friendly environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional who has relevant experience in a public accounting environment. Ideal candidates will possess leadership and communication skills with proven experience in the delivery of quality client service. Key attributes sought include the area of financial statement and income tax preparation. Part of the position will be daily interaction with clients; answering questions and addressing concerns. Proven accounting and income tax experience, along with an good working knowledge of related software is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparation of financial statements. This may include: GAAP, OCBOA or non report financials.

2. Preparation of individual and business income tax returns. This may include: 1040, 1120C, 1120S, 1065, 990 & 1041.

3. Effective work-paper preparation in compliance with firm standards and procedures.

4. Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree Required and Bachelor's Degree is preferred -- CPA or CPA Candidate is a definite plus!
  • Relevant experience in a small local public accounting firm preparing financial statements.
  • Proven history in delivery of quality client service.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, as well as financial statement and income tax preparation software. This should include both QuickBooks desktop and online versions
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Team player with a positive -- 'can do' approach.

The salary/pay rate will be commensurate with experience. We also offer a competitive benefits package.
