Job description

Overview

CTG is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a W-2 contract assignment with a long-standing client. This is an onsite position in Painted Post, NY, and candidates must be able to commute to the worksite.

Location: Painted Post, NY 100% on-site
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Compensation: up to $40.25 hourly depending on experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Position Overview

The Junior Software Engineer will help develop, test, troubleshoot, and support software used in manufacturing environments. The work may involve measurement and inspection systems, machine vision, image processing, data collection, machine learning, and reporting applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career software engineer interested in gaining hands-on experience with manufacturing technology and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, debug, and support manufacturing software applications
  • Assist with software used for measurement, inspection, machine vision, and image processing
  • Support data collection, analysis, machine learning, and reporting systems
  • Participate in software design, code reviews, testing, and quality-assurance activities
  • Diagnose software issues and work with team members to implement solutions
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teams
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
