Job Description
  • Solution and monitor wide area network file and print servers for capacity, utilization and performance
  • Advanced system hardware/software troubleshooting as required
  • Solution, install, implement and support complicated server platforms which may or may not include SAN/NAS sub-systems.
  • Architect and deploy data backup and recovery solutions.
  • Perform data backup and recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Contribute towards defining standard hardware requirements
  • Work with internal and external customers to gather IT system then architect and deploy IT systems solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation of system/server inventory and technical specifications
  • Perform security audits in accordance with the company's IT security policy
  • Participate in the Company's asset management programs
  • Perform security audits in accordance with the company's IT security policy
  • Work with internal and external customers via an IT service ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issue tickets
  • Write effective technical documentation as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to company IT standards for systems

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, or the equivalent in terms of education, experience and training
  • Expertise with Microsoft Windows server operating systems
  • Experience with VMWare ESXI or other similar virtualization platforms.
  • Base knowledge of core Microsoft Server Services (etc: DNS/DHCP/WINS)
  • Experience with server based system event monitoring
  • Experience with HP Net-Server Hardware
  • Experience with an enterprise level data archive & restore platform.
  • Experience with remote support utilities (RDP/Term Services)
  • General understanding of networking topologies and network troubleshooting
  • General understanding of virtualization, Clustering, DR/BCP best practices
  • Exposure to Symantec End Point Protection or other similar anti-virus Protection suite
  • Exposure to NAS/SAN technologies (Netapp Experience a ++)
  • General understanding of data center management techniques
  • Knowledge of SMS or other Asset Management Tool
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and/or Exchange is a plus
