DescriptionThe Packaging Associate is an entry-level position and is responsible for fully support and contributing to the efforts of the packaging team as it executes the daily packaging needs and goals. This includes working on all facets of packaging as needed; canning, kegging and warehousing. This position will primarily be based at the Hardywood West Creek facility with potential shifts and duties at the Hardywood Richmond facility. This position has an opportunity to grow into a Packaging Specialist I, II and III, gradually becoming more involved in the operation of the canning line, kegging equipment and process and warehousing. This position is supervised by the Assistant Packaging Manager and reports to the Packaging Manager.ResponsibilitiesFollow company safety procedures and identify opportunities to ensure the safest working environment possible.Packaging of cans and cartons coming off the can line.Ensure quality packaging of all cans and kegs and associated packaging materials and labeling.Cleaning and sanitizing kegs needed for meeting production needs.Taping of boxes once completely packaged.Wrapping and placing completed pallets into bonded inventory based on Logistics Coordinator's needs and preferences. Assist in inventory management as neededHelp in the brewery as needed.General cleaning of packaging and production area.Breaking down boxes and discarding them as needed.QualificationsHigh School graduate. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Superior standard of sanitation and cleanliness.Proficient writing and math skills.Computer skills and software.Work efficiently and with urgency to achieve daily goals.Functions extremely well in a team-based environment.Ability to adapt under short notice.Physical DemandsThis position can routinely be physically demanding in nature and involves working with potentially dangerous equipment, machinery, exposure to high noise levels, and handling of hazardous materials.Stands and/or traverses the brewery for long periods of time (8-10 hours per day).Routinely bends, moves, transports, or lifts 60 pounds and moves 165 pounds safely. Occasionally climbs ladders. Can work in both hot and cold temperatures.
