Machine Tool Service Tech (Shop & Field) – Aldan, PA
KAAST Machine Tools is a rapidly growing international distributor of CNC and conventional machine tools, serving manufacturers throughout North America. We provide sales and service for one of the industry's most comprehensive lines of metalworking equipment, including CNC and conventional mills, lathes, saws, grinders, press brakes, shears, angle and plate rolls, laser systems, waterjets, and other fabrication equipment.
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated Machine Tool Service Technician to join our team in Aldan, PA. This position offers a combination of shop work and field service, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with industrial machinery.
Position Overview
As a Machine Tool Service Technician, you will prepare, inspect, install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of CNC and conventional machine tools. You'll work both in our warehouse/showroom and at customer facilities, ensuring our equipment is delivered, installed, and operating at peak performance.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong mechanical aptitude, electrical troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare new machines for customer shipment.
  • Uncrate, assemble, power up, and perform complete inspections and operational testing.
  • Complete written inspection and service reports.
  • Install machinery and assist with machine startups.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs on customer equipment.
  • Provide technical support to customers over the phone and during on-site service visits.
  • Conduct machine demonstrations and operator training for customers.
  • Document service work, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of industrial machine installation, maintenance, or repair experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, grinders, press brakes, shears, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation
$20.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
