Job description

Document Control - Technical Writer I
Responsibilities
The Document Control - Technical Writer I is responsible for creation, review, control, distribution, and timeliness of documents that will be used by Evapco employees. Material includes policies, procedures, guidelines, forms, templates, and other training material. While providing outstanding training services and a high degree of employee care to issues of documentation and instruction for the Evapco Greenup Facility.
Job Summary
Work with limited direct supervision, prioritizing work, making sound decisions of timing, training, and responsibility. Training and development of all Levels Evapco personnel with approved and certified corporate and internal documents and training techniques. Ensuring training documentation, and processes are accurate and maintain their quality, and present information for greatest reader comprehension based on the audiences' needs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required. Preferred applicants will have an Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and experience working with content in SharePoint and other programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet and ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Proficiency working with Subject Matter Experts to create documentation or other training material.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to quality documentation standards and Document Control processes and procedures.
  • Experience collaborating with staff at different levels including entry level, plant management to Corporate Document Control Specialist.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in an atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation.
  • Knowledge and practical use of mfg. tools, test equipment, and measurement equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in interviewing subject matter experts, documenting technical information and creating training material for effective use at all levels of operations.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to interview subject matter experts, document technical information and create training material (documents, job aids, video etc.) for effective use at all levels of operations.
  • Guarantee documents are created, signed off, data is accurate, and documents are stored and backed up and any retention policies are followed; while ensuring product requirements and Evapco Procedures concerning process instructions, build techniques, and acceptable product.
  • Meet Document Control production expectations within 3 months of start date and maintain production expectations throughout duration of role.
  • Facilitate New Hire Training covering SharePoint, Pilot, and ADP.
  • Monitoring training completion for employees and assisting employees with training completion as needed.
  • Continually gather customer feedback on training material to improve usability. Act as editor to ensure consistency in material across all departments and plants.
  • Develop revisions of work instruction and standards to meet new/existing product or equipment mixes.
  • Review documentation with applicable individuals on-site and providing that information to corporate.
  • Contribute "new ideas" for training improvements and system improvements within the organization.
  • Completion of projects such as: Video presentation of training events, safety procedures, and Leader / Assistant leader Document Review Sign Offs.
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite, Scanning, Electronic files, and SharePoint daily.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to collect, document, record, and maintain all pertinent data required to successfully complete assigned work and be able to report back to supervisor of status.
  • Follows documented Office, Safety, and Quality policies, follows standard processes, and ensures projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Required to maintain a professional and positive demeanor when working with other Evapco Team Members, Representatives, and Customers.
