Job description

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an Entry-Level Automation Electrician for an immediate hire in Latham, NY.

Join a growing team with a temp-to-hire opportunity, steady hours, and possible overtime!

  • PAY: $28.00 - $35.00/hour (based upon experience)
  • HOURS: Expected shifts will be 8-hour days starting at 7:30 AM
  • SCHEDULE: Expected work will be Monday-Friday; approximately 40 hours per week with possible overtime
  • START DATE: Immediately
  • DURATION: This is anticipated to be a Temp-to-Hire position

Entry-Level Automation Electrician Job Description:

The Entry-Level Automation Electrician is responsible for supporting the installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS), including mounting control components, installing conduit and wiring, and performing terminations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan installations to minimize material waste, allow for future maintenance access, and comply with project specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Pull wiring through conduit and properly label conductors.
  • Ensure concealed wiring is installed before completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Locate, mount, and terminate BAS end devices, including temperature sensors, relays, and electronic actuators.
  • Prepare sketches showing as-built locations of wiring and equipment.
  • Attend project meetings as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
  • Coordinate work activities with other trades on the job site.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel as required.

Qualifications for Entry-Level Automation Electrician:

  • Experience with electrical installations, conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminations preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Building Automation System (BAS) experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and wear required PPE.
  • Must be able to perform job duties requiring standing, crouching, twisting, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves
  • Must have standard electrical hand tools.

Additional Requirements for Entry-Level Automation Electrician:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required.
