Job description

Greystone, a leading Tier II manufacturer in the automotive, medical, defense, and aerospace sectors, is seeking a dedicated Mechanical or Chemical Process Engineer for our Virginia location. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in manufacturing and automation, including camera systems, and proprietary plating systems.  

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement manufacturing systems to achieve world-class productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety. 

  • Analyze production operations to identify improvement opportunities and implement recommended changes. 

  • Measure process performance using KPIs and develop data collection systems to enhance performance. 

  • Provide daily on-the-floor support and troubleshooting to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency. 

  • Program PLCs and design HMIs to improve operator-machine interaction. 

  • Troubleshoot automated machines to ensure smooth operation. 

  • Develop trial plans, proof of concepts, and DOE to validate process improvements. 

  • Maintain reports and documentation, including Automotive Sector Core Tools Documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, APQP). 

  • Track and report progress on critical assignments using project management tools. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. 

  • Work experience is preferred but we will train the right candidate! 

  • Project management skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Team-oriented with a drive for team success. 

  • Initiative and ability to multi-task. 

  • Entry-level understanding of automation processes and systems. 

Job Location and Conditions 

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, conference room, and office setting. 

  • Involves a high-volume manufacturing environment with chemicals and manual and automated equipment. 

  • Adhere to safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor. 

  • Some travel required for customer visits, trade shows, training events, and other plant locations.
