The Opportunity:ย 

We are seeking a motivatedย Auditย Associate to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in performing financialย statementย and performance auditsย in accordance withย Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). The Associate willย assistย in conducting fieldwork, testing transactions, analyzing financial data, documenting audit results, and helping to prepare audit reports and supporting workpapers.ย 

This role is ideal for recent graduates who are detail-oriented, curious, and eager toย gain experience inย auditing. Candidates should have strong analytical and written communication skills,ย proficiencyย with Microsoft Excel and Word, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.ย ย 

The following are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilitiesย requiredย to lead in this role.ย 

Duties and Responsibilities:ย 

  • Performย testing procedures under the direction and supervision of the Senior Associate.ย ย 

  • Assistย in planning and executingย federal financial statement auditsย in accordance withย Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).ย 

  • Performย substantive testing and analytical proceduresย on general ledger balances, journal entries, and financial disclosures.ย 

  • Reviewย account reconciliations, trial balances, and supporting documentationย for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.ย 

  • Assistย in theย preparation of audit documentation and workpapersย that support audit conclusions.ย 

  • Identify, document, and communicateย control deficiencies, potential misstatements, and noncompliance issuesย toย Senior Associates.ย 

  • Participate inย walkthroughs and client meetingsย to obtain an understanding of financial systems, business processes, and internal controls.ย 


Requirements:โ€ฏย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting from an accredited college or universityย 

  • Minimumย cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scaleย 

  • U.S. citizenshipย ย 

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% as neededย 

  • Ability to provide official or unofficial transcripts upon requestย 

  • Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a willingness to develop knowledge of AICPA, GAO (Yellow Book), and FASAB standards and requirementsย 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlinesย 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to clarity and professionalismย 

  • Proven analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skillsย 

  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointย 

  • Commitment to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and objectivity, with the ability toย maintainย confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgmentย

  • Masterโ€™s degree in accountingย or business administrationย from an accredited universityย 

  • Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam, or intent to pursue CPA licensureย 

  • Internship or prior experience in auditing, accounting, orย financial management,ย especially within a federal agency, Inspector General office, or public accounting firmย 

  • Familiarity with the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) or federal accounting concepts under FASAB standardsย

This position requires a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.ย Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance as a condition of employment.ย An interim Secret Clearance must be granted prior to starting work.ย

Salaryย 

Salary at Williams Adley isย determinedย byย various factors, including but not limited to the individualโ€™s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is betweenย $62,000.00 and $65,000.00 (annualized USD)ย based on experience, skills, and certifications. The estimate displayedย representsย the typical salary range for this position and is just oneย componentย of Williams Adleyโ€™s total compensation package for employees.ย
