Job description

Department: Maintenance
Employment type: Seasonal
Work Schedule: Varied hours including weekends, evenings and holidays
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Entry Level Maintenance Tech
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complete daily pre-opening safety inspections of slides and attractions
  • Respond to attraction shutdowns during park operation and safely return the attraction to operation
  • Perform job related tasks and projects
  • Maintain all proper safety policies and procedures
  • General upkeep of the park facilities
  • Pool cleaning and water testing
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment for customers and other employees
  • Assist customers with any questions regarding Rapids Waterpark including facility layout and amenities
  • Follow all park policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic Trade experience preferred (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical)
  • Basic knowledge of proper usage of tools and equipment
  • Pool experience and AFO/CPO preferred
  • Swimming ability required
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision and work well under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with public, customers and staff members in a polite and expedient manner
  • Be aware, attentive, and work well with others
  • Energy and enthusiasm for long days
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions while taking precautions, including hydration and sun-protection

  • Must be able to work outside in the park at various times throughout the year
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech
  • Requires standing, kneeling and bending
  • Requires walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
  • Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 to 70 pounds
  • Requires occasional carries up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck
