Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction


Location: Houston, TX

A well-established commercial general contractor is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its growing team. This is a great opportunity to work on large, negotiated commercial projects while partnering closely with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents to deliver high-quality projects from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and monthly owner billings.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
  • Assist with subcontractor buyout, procurement, and scheduling.
  • Help ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 2–6 years of experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience on ground-up commercial construction projects preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
