Hobby Lobby is seeking candidates to fill future entry-level Buyer positions.
Hobby Lobby is the largest privately-owned arts-and-crafts retailer in the world. These stores are supported by the over 10 million square feet of office, manufacturing and distribution campus located in Oklahoma City.
Description
Hobby Lobby is seeking future full-time Buyers with a perfect mix of dynamic, creative abilities such as identifying current trends and executing strong contributions to the bottom line. Future Buyers will be working in an office setting, Monday through Friday, though travel days may be an exception. Future Buyers will be collaborating with other Buyers, Design Teams and Vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Meet deadlines
  • Identify and keep abreast of market trends that our customers are interested in
  • Identify and qualify new manufacturers and vendors
  • Communicate effectively to deliver product's requirements
  • Communicate important information to the appropriate teams
  • Build product collections through collaborations with other buyers
  • Manage product development from conception to purchase order
  • Analyze and manage vendor performance to maximize profitability
  • Meet and exceed margin and financial goals set by company leaders
  • Develop and propose new product concepts that are exciting and unique
  • Possible Domestic and/or International travel to work with vendors on sourcing new products

  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time while attending trade shows or climb stairs when visiting factories
  • Microsoft Office experience with the following programs:

    • Microsoft Outlook skillset in keeping with the description at the Outlook Website
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in business administration, merchandising, or marketing OR
  • Work experience within a buying capacity, preferably retail chain format OR
  • Combination of education and work experience equaling 5+ years
