What is an entry level architect?

Entry level architecture jobs are positions for recent graduates or individuals with little to no professional experience in the architecture field. These roles often involve working under the supervision of licensed architects, assisting with drafting, modeling, research, and project documentation. Entry level architects typically use design software, help prepare presentations, and gain exposure to the various stages of architectural projects. These positions provide foundational experience and are a first step toward becoming a licensed architect.

What typical responsibilities can I expect as an entry level architect, and how much client interaction is involved?

As an entry-level architect, you will primarily support project teams by assisting with drafting, creating models, preparing presentation materials, and conducting research on building codes and materials. While direct client interaction is usually limited at this stage, you may attend meetings to take notes or observe the process, which helps you learn how to translate client needs into design solutions. Over time, as you gain experience and demonstrate your abilities, your responsibilities and opportunities for client engagement will increase. Working closely with senior architects and other team members is common, and collaboration is key to learning and growing in the field.

What is the difference between Entry Level Architecture vs Junior Architect?

Entry Level Architecture typically refers to individuals starting their careers with minimal experience, often in internships or assistant roles. Junior Architect is a more defined position within firms, involving more responsibility but still under supervision. Both roles require similar educational credentials, but Junior Architects usually have some practical experience and are progressing toward full licensure.

How to get a job in entry level architecture with no experience?

To secure an entry-level architecture position with no experience, focus on building a strong portfolio showcasing academic projects and skills in design software like AutoCAD or Revit. Internships, volunteering, or apprenticeships can provide practical experience, and obtaining relevant certifications or a degree in architecture can improve your chances. Networking with professionals and applying to firms that hire entry-level candidates also help start your career.

What do entry level architects do?

Entry level architects assist in designing and developing building plans, creating drawings, and preparing construction documents under the supervision of experienced architects. They often use CAD software, conduct site visits, and support project coordination to gain practical experience in architectural projects.

Job description

Do you love technology but want to do more than just code? If you are looking for meaningful work with a big impact and a chance to work directly with stakeholders to design solutions and solve complex problems, then this role is for you.

The Technical Consultant Development Program (CDP) is an accelerated pathway that transforms early-career professionals into high-impact technical consultants—empowering you to write production code, build custom integrations, and deploy enterprise cloud and AI solutions that help global Life Sciences companies bring life-changing therapies to patients.

Start Dates: October 2026 and July 2027

The Program

As part of the Technical Consultant Development Program, you will:

  • Ramp up quickly. Your journey begins with an intensive, engineering-focused onboarding program designed to build deep technical expertise in Veeva’s Vault Platform, APIs, and custom development—while equipping you with the core consulting and customer-facing skills needed to engage directly with clients and ship production code from day one.
  • Learn by doing. Skip the sidelines and routine QA—you’ll take on real engineering responsibility within your first three months, writing production code, building custom integrations, and working directly with customers to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Thrive together. Learn side‑by‑side with seasoned Technical and Migration Architects who prioritize your growth, guiding you through complex system designs and providing transparent, actionable feedback on your code and client delivery.
  • Build your future. Fast-track your career from Associate to Consultant in less than two years, building a powerful foundation in full-stack implementation, DevOps, and technical consulting while leading complex architecture projects alongside a global team.
What You’ll Do
  • Build solutions. Skip basic QA and debugging to write production code, develop custom integrations using Java SDKs and APIs, build DevOps pipelines, and deploy Veeva AI tools on the Vault Platform.
  • Architect and migrate. Work directly with migration architects to design custom backend logic, configure enterprise SaaS platforms, and execute complex data migration scripts for global life sciences clients.
  • Ship internal tooling. Accelerate delivery workflows by developing cutting‑edge, developer‑facing tools used globally across the Veeva Services engineering team.
  • Own technical delivery. Take on real architectural responsibility from day one, mastering software engineering and client‑facing technical strategy to advance from Associate to Consultant in under two years.
What We Are Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field with strong technical background.
  • Technical Foundation: Demonstrated experience in Object‑Oriented Programming.
  • Communication: Excellent technical storytelling skills; you enjoy explaining why a specific technical architecture or decision is right for a customer
  • Drive: Thrive in a challenging, intense environment that rewards initiative and rapid learning.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong critical thinking skills and proven track record of academic performance.
  • Integrity: Veeva is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) and a “do the right thing” company; we expect that from all employees.
  • Work Ethic: A commitment to excellence and passion for working hard to achieve results.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed (up to 20% of the time).
  • Experience: Recent university graduate (up to 2 years postgraduate experience maximum)
NICE TO HAVE
  • Languages: Experience with Python, C, HTML, Java, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Cloud: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
  • AI Tools: Experience using AI‑powered development tools or CLI assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or similar).
THE PROCESS | Our process is different from most. It is designed to be fast, efficient and respectful. Here are the steps:
  1. Initial Response: Within one week, we will notify you of your next step via email.
  2. Interview & Technical Challenge: The next step is a 60‑minute interview with a Veeva leader, followed by a 30‑minute technical challenge delivered via Coderpad.
  3. Case: After the coding challenge, there is a case exercise with a member of our services team. You will have three days to prepare for the case exercise.
  4. Decision: Within one week, we will extend an offer or let you know that we are not moving forward.
  5. Commitment: You will have two weeks to accept your offer. We value commitment; once you accept, we will hold a spot for you and expect you to join us on your start date. Accepting an offer and continuing to interview would be an ethical violation in our view.
Compensation
  • Starting Salary: $80,000 USD
  • After one year, if you perform well, you will receive a compensation increase and participate in our bonus program

Work Authorization: Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Veeva does not provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, OPT, or TN status) for this employment position.

Hybrid Work Environment: We require Associate Consultants to live within reasonable commuting distance from Veeva's Frankfurt or Berlin office giving you easy access to in‑person collaboration and support, skill development, and social opportunities as you launch your career. Long‑term, our Work Anywhere policy allows you flexibility to work from the office or from your home.
