Corrections Trainee / Corrections Officer

Washington County Sheriff's Office

Performs a variety of entry level certified or non-certified duties related to the security, safety, order, operation and maintenance of county jail facilities including detention and monitoring of inmates.

Full-Time, with Benefits

Corrections Trainees start at $26.00 per hour, increase to $31.21 per hour once certified (typically within the first 8-12 months of employment)

  • $50k term life insurance policy, $50k accident insurance and long-term disability provided by the employer for each employee.
  • County employees accrue 18 days of PTO each year, and PTO can increase based on years of service.

  • Run 1.5 miles in 16:11, 14 push-ups (continuous exercise), hold a plank position for 30 seconds (replaces sit-up requirement)
