Job description

Job Overview
As a Phone Nurse in our Family Medicine clinic, you'll play a key role in connecting patients with the care they need.
In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you'll handle incoming phone calls and MyChart messages, provide clinical triage, answer patient questions, and coordinate next steps in care. You'll support providers and clinic staff by helping manage patient concerns remotely, ensuring patients are directed to the right level of care in a timely way. Your guidance helps keep clinic workflows running smoothly while making a real difference in the patient experience.
This role includes providing direct or indirect care under the supervision of a physician based on scope of training to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems, as well as preventive care. Services include, but are not limited to, general patient care, documentation of activities, and patient/family education. Care is provided utilizing established principles and ethical standards as well as policies and procedures established by Deaconess.

Education and Experience
  • Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Experience preferred but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current certification/license from one of the below:
  • Certified Medical Assistant- American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Registered Medical Assistant- American Medical Technologist
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- National Health career Association
  • National Certified Medical Assistant- National Center for Competency Testing
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant- National Association for Health Professionals
  • Registered Medical Assistant- American Allied Health
  • Certified Medical Assistant Clinical- American Medical Certification Association
  • Active LPN license in state of employment
  • Active RN license in state of employment
  • CPR provider certification required.

Pay Scales:
CMA/RMA: $19.14 to $26.79
Clinic LPN: $22.32 to $31.25
Clinic RN: $26.04 to $36.45
