Job Summary:
The Production Engineer will support daily manufacturing operations by optimizing
production processes, improving quality and efficiency, and driving continuous
improvement initiatives. This entry level role is ideal for candidates with limited
engineering experience in a plant or production environment who are eager to apply
engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges. The Production Engineer
will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met safely,
cost-effectively, and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the monitoring and analyzing of production line performance to identify
    opportunities for improvement in throughput, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective action.
  • Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the production line,
    including trials and validation.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions,
    and process documentation.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support kaizen events to drive
    continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth and
    safe production operations.
  • Gather and analyze production data to support decision-making and report key
    performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support training efforts for operators and technicians on new processes or
    equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory
    requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment
    (internships and co-ops included).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value
    Stream Mapping) is a plus.
  • Able to properly and regularly utilize the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for
    a period of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day
    • Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds on occasion
    • Stoop, twist, bend
    • Reach overhead
    • Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.

Skills:
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely. Experienced
    with JMP, Minitab is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CAD
    or production management systems is a plus.
