What are Entry Level AI Agent Developers?

Entry Level AI Agent Developers are professionals who assist in designing, building, and maintaining artificial intelligence agents, such as chatbots or virtual assistants, often under the supervision of more experienced engineers. They typically work with programming languages like Python and use machine learning frameworks to help create intelligent systems that can interact with users or perform tasks autonomously. These roles are suited for those new to the field and often require a foundational understanding of AI concepts, basic coding skills, and a willingness to learn advanced topics on the job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level AI Agent Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level AI Agent Developer, you need a solid understanding of programming languages (such as Python), basic machine learning concepts, and a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with AI frameworks (like TensorFlow or PyTorch), API integration, and version control systems (e.g., Git) is typically required. Problem-solving ability, eagerness to learn, and effective teamwork are standout soft skills for this role. These skills and qualities are vital for building, maintaining, and improving AI agents in a collaborative and rapidly evolving tech environment.

What are some typical projects or tasks an Entry Level AI Agent Developer can expect to work on during their first year?

As an Entry Level AI Agent Developer, you can expect to work on tasks such as building and fine-tuning conversational AI agents, assisting with data preprocessing, and implementing basic machine learning models under the guidance of senior engineers. You’ll likely contribute to updating or troubleshooting existing AI agents, performing code reviews, and writing test cases. Collaboration with data scientists, UX designers, and product managers is common, giving you exposure to the full development lifecycle and valuable opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.

What is the difference between Entry Level Ai Agent Developer vs Data Analyst?

Job description

We are seeking a highly inquisitive and hands-on AI Engineer to assist us in developing and continually enhancing intelligent workflows within our product. This position lies at the convergence of model experimentation, AI-driven product development, and full-stack implementation.

You will collaborate closely with the founders to prototype, integrate, and optimize the deployment of LLMs and other AI systems throughout our platform. This role is technical, creative, and fast-paced, perfect for an individual who excels in an experimental setting and utilizes AI tools on a daily basis.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement intelligent workflows powered by foundational models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
  • Investigate and incorporate multi-step reasoning through Chain-of-Thought and agent-style methodologies
  • Fine-tune open-source models or conduct prompt tuning experiments to enhance task accuracy
  • Utilize tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to rapidly prototype and iterate on products
  • Engage across the tech stack to integrate AI features (Node.js + Supabase + React)
  • Conduct micro-model evaluations to assess hypothesis-to-output cycles
  • Leverage AI to enhance your own workflow and automate internal tools
  • Contribute to our experimentation engine to determine the optimal use of models
  • Implement AI Voice agents

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a startup environment, adaptability to chaos, enthusiasm for learning new skills, and a proactive approach towards responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with foundational models (such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Mistral, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of prompt engineering, reasoning pathways, agent orchestration, and invoking tools.
  • Practical experience in model fine-tuning and utilizing vector stores.
  • Proficient in using Cursor or Claude Code, with daily usage preferred.
  • Solid backend expertise in Node.js and Supabase/Postgres.
  • Ability to create UI flows using React.
  • A strong passion for leveraging AI not merely as a tool but as an integral aspect of product design.
  • A startup mindset: humble, resourceful, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with LiveKit or real-time communication platforms
  • Exposure to LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar agent frameworks
  • Product-minded engineer, understands the "why" behind features and contributes to UX/feature design
  • Experience translating abstract AI capabilities into intuitive product workflows
