Do you have an investigative spirit and enjoy working with a variety of people to solve complex problems? Corbion is seeking a Junior Cost Accountant responsible for analyzing process order cost variances, generating weekly plant activity reports, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of process orders. This role involves a combination of time at your desk and time meeting with people in the warehouse or manufacturing floor, resolving discrepancies and variances.
Essential Functions
  • Review process orders for completeness and accuracy. Research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Analyze and monitor inventory movements.
  • Verify corrective actions on process orders.
  • Recommend master data changes based on process order variance analysis.
  • Audit BOM and recipe master data.
  • Recommend process improvements based on the review of process order variances.
  • Identify inventory movement errors and suggest corrective actions.
  • Assist in reviewing the annual production volume budget.
  • Support Continuous Improvement (CI) activities by reporting internal plant activities reports.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Controller, Operations Controller.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent applicable experience
  • Proven success finding and resolving discrepancies, following through to resolution
  • Experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); SAP and Excel
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, maintain ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Experience using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
  • Detail-oriented, prioritizes and plans work, completes work on time and accurately
  • Experience working cooperatively with various departments or independently. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills and professionalism
  • Proven background of taking initiative in performing job duties and seeking increased responsibilities
