Job description

The Entry Level Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting the dealership Controller and a will be key member of the Administrative Office in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, periodic financial reports as needed. This role will also assist as needed in training other departments on financial processes, reconciling expense reports, and in helping to prepare information for external accounting audits, reviewing financial transactions and account statements, reconciling AR and AP, and resolving bank discrepancies, and assuring all accounting and financial reporting is done in compliance with all company and/or GAAP guidelines. This position may work with highly confidential and sensitive information, deal with a diverse group of customers, guest, employees, vendors, and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparing and making data entries for various journal entries in our Data Management System, Microsoft Office Products or other systems.
  • Analyzing financial reports and records, and performing variance analyses and/or account reconciliations
  • Working with all departments within the dealership and Premier Management (collectively “Dealership”) to adhere to policies and procedures for all accounts payable practices to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Assisting with financial and tax audits as needed
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations, or any other tasked financial reports to stakeholder in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining and administrating protocols and records related to all agency credit cards, periodic audit of expenditures, and any related Dealership business expense matters.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The best candidate enjoys number-based problems, thrives in a structured environment, consistently meets deadlines, and demonstrates exceptional focus. If you prefer constantly switching between multiple tasks, this role may not be the best fit.
  • 2+ years of work experience preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to reliably follow a predetermined schedule and meet calendar commitments.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong basic math skills, having the ability to recognize if the result does not make sense. You must be able to check your work.
  • Ability to work professionally with and effectively interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Team-oriented and works well in a collaborative environment while still being self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Physical requirements/Working conditions

Primarily working in an office environment using a PC and phone for prolonged periods with ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, reach, pull and lift objects up to 10lbs intermittently.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform repetitive hand activities with close reach, such as keyboard, mouse, handwriting and file management (continuously). The person in this role is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.  The physical demands listed herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
