Job description

Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist for Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) will be an important part of the Accounting team. We are looking for a positive, motivated, and collaborative professional who will be responsible for timely processing and recording of incoming payments and other accounting functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepares daily deposits and scans checks for remote deposit via bank software.
  • Posts payments into multiple accounting systems.
  • Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
  • Mail statements and invoices to customers.
  • Research and work to clear customer debits and credit balances on account.
  • Respond to requests from customers via email or over the phone in a tactful and professional demeanor within established time frames.
  • Assist accounting staff with organizing tax forms and payments with federal and state government agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to research and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Applicant must display a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High level of professionalism with internal staff and external clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
