Duties Summary Performs difficult and responsible accounting work involving supervision of a major accounting program, design and revision of a major aspect of the State accounting system, or supervision and participation in the preparation of control records and financial statements for all State funds; and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements: Legal Authorization to Work Requirement: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects. Accounting Experience: Three and one-half (3 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.

Supervisory Aptitude: Demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader, by the completion of training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments; and/or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.
