Job description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a wholesale distribution organization in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a Long-term Contract position that offers a fully on-site work environment and a steady opportunity to support a high-volume accounts payable function. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working through large amounts of invoice activity, and able to review automated transactions for accuracy while making corrections when needed.
Responsibilities:
• Review system-generated invoices to verify account coding and identify items that require correction
• Enter and adjust financial data accurately, including reversing entries when invoice details are posted incorrectly
• Manage a high volume of payable transactions while maintaining strong accuracy and consistent turnaround times
• Investigate invoice exceptions and resolve discrepancies to support timely payment processing
• Work within the company’s accounting platform to monitor invoice flow and ensure records remain current
• Apply careful analytical review to automated postings rather than relying solely on system output
• Support day-to-day accounts payable operations in a fully on-site environment with dependable follow-through• Previous experience in accounts payable is preferred, though candidates with relevant accounting exposure will also be considered
• Familiarity with high-volume data entry or transaction processing in an accounting setting
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify coding errors or inconsistencies quickly
• Experience with SAP is preferred
• Exposure to accounts receivable or broader accounting support functions is a plus
