Job description

Position Summary: Data enters patient information from various sources including patient medical records, registration documents, billing and coding information, etc.
Critical Tasks:
  • Updates and amends patient records as indicated.
  • Maintains database including, but not limited to: demographic information, billing, coding, type of visit, medication(s) and laboratory work.
  • Daily, assembles and prepares completed data entry activities for review.
  • Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives.

  • Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of a course of study leading to a High School or GED diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months previous data entry (both alpha and numeric) experience .
