Job description

We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Assembler to join a fast-paced manufacturing team. In this role, you assemble various components into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders. You ensure high-quality standards, follow safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement in a growing, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components into finished products according to specifications, diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing required safety shoes, glasses, and ear protection.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches safely and correctly, and maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing information such as front views, bills of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems.
  • Ensure the quality of structures by checking that products are level, square, and assembled to required standards.
  • Inspect components such as corner posts, roofs, and covers for damage, including dents and scratches, before and during assembly.
  • Use torque wrenches to torque bolts to required specifications and verify correct installation.
  • Assemble switchboards, panelboards, and copper bussing according to design, checking for correct spacing from phase to phase and ground.
  • Perform visual inspections of materials before and after assembly, identify nonconforming parts, and troubleshoot errors to resolve quality issues.
  • Utilize various hand tools to accurately install materials by closely following established procedures and work instructions.
  • Communicate job progress within the assigned area and promptly identify and report problem areas or part shortages.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in root cause analysis for quality or production issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and leads to meet production goals and maintain a safe, efficient workflow.
  • Follow instructions, both oral and written, to complete assemblies and identify missing components.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience working as an Assembler in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and other technical manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and concentration when assembling and inspecting components.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches used in assembly work.
  • Clear understanding of manufacturing information such as front views, bills of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems.
  • Ability to assemble switchboards, panelboards, and similar electrical or structural products using written or verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and also independently.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify missing components, quality issues, and process inefficiencies.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to open and follow designs using CAD software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand or walk for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with assembly tools, techniques, and standard manufacturing processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
