This position is primarily responsible for effective and efficient leadership, operation, and control ofthe 2nd shift janitor staff of approximately nine and performing janitorial tasks as well. Performance and expected outcomes will be measured in terms of appearance of assigned locations and completion of assigned work orders. The Supervisor has latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines. This working Supervisor's schedule is Monday through Friday from 5 pm to 1:30 am. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role. The selected candidate is expected to spend the majority of their time (approximately 75%) performing janitorial duties alongside the team.

Responsibilities:

Janitor

Key Actions/Activities

  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpet, furniture, etc.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Dusting and cleaning office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
  • Cleaning windows and windowsills.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
  • Proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
  • Always Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Coordinate and assist with facility meetings and event setups
  • Other routine maintenance duties as assigned.

Leadership & People Management

Key Actions/Activities

  • Perform general management responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, performance reviews, individual development activities, etc.
  • Monitor team performance against department standards, and ensure that these standards are consistently met or exceeded
  • Assisting in disciplinary decisions and actions
  • Act as escalation point for issues and provide leadership and guidance to team
  • Provide necessary work directions and manage projects effectively through planning, organization and project management
  • Responsible for ensuring completion and accuracy of work orders and cleaning logs
  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas and document deficiencies and escalate issues to Facilities Manager as appropriate
  • Maintain facility cleanliness standards across office and manufacturing spaces
  • Meet or exceed work order completion targets
  • Monitor and manage employee attendance and address performance concerns in a timely manner
  • Ensure adequate shift coverage and respond to call-ins or staffing shortages as needed
  • Basic Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Janitorial experience in both an office and manufacturing environment
  • Prior people leadership or management experience.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed English instructions and convey same to staff both verbally and in written format
  • Creates and fosters a positive working environment
  • Experience leading teams by setting a good example and following established policies and procedures
  • Strong service and quality attitude
  • Experience planning, organizing, and directing
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet established performance expectations
  • Stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
  • Requires bending, stooping, reaching, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work extended hours or varying shifts when necessary
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of prior management experience.

Compensation Range:


The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $19.67-$28.85 per hour (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company's discretionary annual incentive plan. In addition to your pay, Entrust offers eligible colleagues and their dependents comprehensive health and well-being programs which include medical, vision, dental, a generous 401(k) matching contribution, life and disability insurance, mental health coaching, virtual fitness programs, paid personal time off plus 12 paid holidays, parental leave and education reimbursement.
