Job description

For over 35 years our clients have trusted us to deliver live production, live events, and virtual production solutions for them, anytime, anywhere.

Purpose:

NEP is seeking an experienced MCR/NOC Supervisor to lead our Master Control / Network Operations Center team in South Florida. The Supervisor oversees daily operations of the MCR/NOC, including inbound signal acquisition, quality control, routing, and monitoring of signals for live productions, while leading, scheduling, training, and developing the operator team. This role owns shift coverage, standard operating procedures, performance coaching, and escalation handling, and works closely with departments such as traffic, engineering, ingest, and production to ensure a quality product for our clients. The ideal candidate is technically strong, a capable leader, communicative, well-organized, flexible, and calm in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Supervision / Leadership

  • Build, publish, and maintain operator schedules to ensure full shift coverage across nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Review and approve timesheets, time-off requests, and shift swaps; track attendance and punctuality.
  • Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for signal acquisition, quality control, routing, monitoring, and escalation.
  • Train and onboard new operators, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead shift handovers and communicate operational priorities, schedule changes, and client requirements to the team.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical and operational issues during assigned shifts.
  • Work in a support and supervisory role for NEP MCR/NOC Operators during all scheduled pre, live, and post events.
  • Support hiring by screening candidates and participating in interviews as needed.
  • Foster a positive, accountable team culture and a willingness to embrace and nurture change.

Technical / Operational

  • Acquire, route, and monitor inbound and outbound transmission feeds alongside the operator team.
  • Perform quality control on productions and ensure transmissions meet broadcast standards.
  • Accurately document and promptly recover from any on-air discrepancies and document outcome for management and client review to include corrective actions.
  • Ability to read scopes and have a solid understanding of broadcast and transmission signals
  • Troubleshoot any technical problems as they arise and coordinate resolution with engineering.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review internal reports and operational logs.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all essential equipment and ensure the team does the same.
  • Work closely with supporting departments such as traffic, engineering, ingest, and production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience (2-4 years’ experience AND 4-year degree or additional experience) in a broadcast, MCR, and/or NOC environment.
  • Ability to professionally react to and make sound decisions under pressure during high-priority requirements with little or no notice.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with routers, transmission systems, monitoring, playout, and streaming systems.
  • Works well under the pressure of Live Television
  • Setup and oversee the technical requirements for all scheduled and live events
  • Understanding and control of broadcast signal acquisition and distribution, network broadcast signal flow, and broadcast troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to build schedules, manage coverage, and approve timesheets.
  • Ability to write and maintain clear SOPs and technical documentation.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work and supervise late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Team player prepared to learn new skills and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude.
  • Sports knowledge is a plus.
