Nerdist, a division of Legendary Digital Networks, is a premiere destination for fans of genre entertainment, pop culture, science, and gaming. Across YouTube, podcasts, and social media, Nerdist delivers daily coverage, commentary, and creative content for audiences who are passionate about storytelling and fandom.
Our part-time, paid internship program provides hands-on experience in a dynamic, innovative environment within the entertainment industry. Interns can work up to 29 hours per week with a flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments. Participants will engage in real projects, gaining practical industry insights while developing professional skills through workshops and career-building sessions. The program also features guest speaker events with industry experts, networking opportunities with professionals and fellow interns, and exclusive perks such as company outings, team-building activities, and access to film and media screenings.
Summary
Legendary is currently seeking an intern to join the Nerdist Post-Production team for Fall 2026. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates interested in developing professional editing and post-production skills for digital media.
Responsibilities
  • Assist editors with the post-production workflow for longform YouTube videos, podcasts, and short-form social content.
  • Edit videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and other industry-standard software.
  • Organize project files, footage, graphics, music, and other production assets.
  • Create rough cuts, selects, string-outs, and social media edits under the guidance of producers and editors.
  • Prepare captions, subtitles, thumbnails, and deliverables for various platforms.
  • Perform quality control checks on exports to ensure audio, video, graphics, and captions meet publishing standards.
  • Help maintain media organization and archive completed projects.
  • Participate in brainstorms for upcoming series, editorial campaigns, and pop culture events.
  • Stay current on editing trends, YouTube best practices, and emerging social video formats.

Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (Fall/Springl) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months
  • A GPA of 3.5 or above is highly preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Excellen verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro required
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and After Effects, is a plus
  • Understanding of digital video codecs, file management, and media organization
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Passion for pop culture, fandom, and storytelling
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating editing experience is preferred
