Job description

Enterprise Software Solutions Architect
Location: Washington, DC (onsite)
Clearance: Secret (Top Secret preferred)
Status: Exempt
Salary: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Solutions Architect to support enterprise architecture initiatives on a large-scale contract. This role is responsible for designing, modernizing, and guiding the implementation of complex software systems across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in application architecture, including restructuring legacy monolithic systems into scalable, modular solutions, along with working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure and enterprise platforms like Salesforce.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and evolution of enterprise-level application architectures aligned with business and technical strategies
  • Assess existing systems and define roadmaps for modernization, including decomposition of monolithic applications into microservices or modular architectures
  • Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing system designs using cloud-native principles
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams on best practices in system design, coding standards, and integration patterns
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, and governance.
  • Create documentation of software designs, architecture, and development standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and platforms to support enterprise architecture goals
  • Design and oversee integration strategies between enterprise systems, including Salesforce and other internal/external platforms
  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, and maintainability

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in an architecture role
  • Strong understanding of application architecture patterns, including monolithic, microservices, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Proven experience refactoring or modernizing legacy/monolithic applications
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce architecture, including integrations and data models
  • Expertise in designing distributed systems and APIs (RESTful / event-driven architectures)
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance technical and business considerations

Preferred Qualifications
