Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
It's an amazing time to join Netflix as we continue shaping the future of global entertainment, bringing new stories to millions of people worldwide. We are looking for a United States and Canada (UCAN) leader to support our Enterprise Security team as we continue to provide a safe & secure environment. The role is part of the Enterprise Operations organization and based in New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, or Los Gatos, CA. Visit our culture memo to learn more about the unique Netflix culture and the opportunity to be part of our team.
The Opportunity:
The Director, UCAN Enterprise Security, will be a regional security strategist and business partner, responsible for designing, evolving, and leading the regional security model with significant global impact, engagement, and contribution. This role oversees the broad regional risk posture, influences global standards, and ensures a safe & secure environment for Netflix personnel and facilities worldwide. As part of the Enterprise Operations team, you will drive the global risk framework and regional strategy, ensuring the successful development and deployment of a comprehensive security program for our owned & leased facilities including Corporate offices, theaters, and other specialized locations. You will be expected to actively participate in landing global Enterprise Security (ES) priorities and maintaining globally aligned operations, serving as the senior authority in regional security matters.
You're a thoughtful and tenured leader with experience developing a regional enterprise security risk strategy in a global company. We have a unique culture that is embraced across all functions. You understand that legacy or best practice security solutions are not what will make you successful. You will understand how to adapt traditional security approaches, programs, and operations to our unique culture. You will be able to create a vision & strategy for regional enterprise security that aligns with our organizational and operational risk profile. It won't be a one size fits all approach. This role will be based in LA and reports to the VP of Enterprise Security.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high impact team.
  • Drive the regional physical security strategy for Netflix Corporate offices and specialized locations, and articulate relevant security risks to leadership.
  • Proactively influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership, shaping strategic decisions to embed security across the regional business and ensure the program aligns with our risk and culture.
  • Implement a baseline approach for the physical security program that can be used to assess our current portfolio and influence the site selection and design of new facilities.
  • Design and evolve the operational security model, overseeing the strategic direction of access control, guard force management, and related technologies to ensure efficiency and alignment with the regional risk posture.
  • Be accountable for vendor management and engagement, budgeting, and financial management, supporting business growth and scaling for operational excellence.
  • Lead regional crisis/incident management, communications, and response
  • Partner and align with XFN stakeholders across the business such as Content Risk Management (CRM), Events, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Security, Privacy, & Assurance.
  • With your HR Business Partner, design a long term staffing & organizational model that aligns with the overall Enterprise Security vision.
  • Drive the continuous advancement and maturity of the regional security program, applying innovation and creativity to define target state capabilities and build the roadmap to get there.
  • Strengthen external partnerships with local and state law enforcement, federal agencies, third party vendors and community organizations.
  • Own the risk profile at regional locations and implement tailored mitigation measures in alignment with the global risk framework.

Qualifications:
  • Prior experience overseeing larger, complex budgets (OPEX + CAPEX).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Security, or related field with at least 10 years of experience with increasing scope, responsibility and complexity at global companies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring enterprise security teams, with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive significant business impact.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and explain the present or future needs for proposed security initiatives to senior management.
  • Comfortable leading large cross functional initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with strong business acumen
  • Experience in Managing or overseeing risk & vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning.
  • Experience with or a deep understanding of the technical security stack.
  • Specific experience with risk and intelligence functions within an enterprise environment.
