What are enterprise applications?

Enterprise applications are large-scale software systems designed to support and streamline the operations, processes, and workflows of organizations. They typically manage business activities such as customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management, and human resources. These applications are critical for enabling collaboration, data sharing, and integration across various departments within an organization. They are usually scalable, secure, and customizable to meet the specific needs of a business.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in enterprise applications, and why are they important?

To excel in Enterprise Applications, you need expertise in business process analysis, systems integration, and a strong understanding of application lifecycle management, often supported by a degree in computer science or information systems. Familiarity with ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle, knowledge of databases, and relevant certifications (such as SAP Certified Application Associate) are commonly required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills help professionals effectively collaborate across departments and address complex business needs. These skills are vital to ensure seamless implementation, optimization, and support of critical enterprise software systems that drive organizational efficiency.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in enterprise applications, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Enterprise Applications often encounter challenges such as integrating new software with legacy systems, managing data consistency across platforms, and ensuring user adoption. To address these challenges, it's important to collaborate closely with IT, business stakeholders, and end users from the planning phases onward. Regular training sessions, clear documentation, and thorough testing can help smooth transitions and minimize disruptions. Staying up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices also supports more effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Job description

Enterprise Applications Manager
Location: Remote, United States
About the Role
We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Enterprise Applications Manager to join our CRM & Revenue Technology team within Revenue Operations. This newly created role sits at the intersection of Revenue Operations and Product Management, serving as the technical bridge between our Salesforce CRM ecosystem and internally developed enterprise applications.
As the Enterprise Applications Manager, you will own the end-to-end delivery of complex integration projects spanning Salesforce, Credit Platform, Data Platform, Entity Management, and Onboarding systems. This role requires a unique blend of technical depth (integration architecture, API design, Workato development), operational excellence (RevOps processes, data governance), and product thinking (requirements gathering, stakeholder management, feature prioritization).
You will be the primary business point of contact for all enterprise application projects, partnering with Engineering, Product, GTM leadership, and Revenue Operations to design scalable integration solutions that enable revenue growth. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role requiring strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a self-starter mentality. You'll be working in a dynamic environment where you'll need to balance competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Architecture & Implementation
  • Own the design and deployment of integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications (Credit Platform, Data Platform, Entity Management, Onboarding) using Workato or similar iPaaS platforms
  • Design integration patterns that ensure data consistency, real-time synchronization, and proper error handling across systems; establish integration best practices and reusable patterns for the team
  • Define Requirements for API connections between Salesforce and internal applications; understand REST/SOAP APIs, authentication methods (OAuth, API keys), and webhook architectures
  • Gather requirements for complex Workato recipes including conditional logic, data transformations, lookup tables, error handling, and batch processing; optimize recipes for performance and reliability
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for all integrations; proactively identify and resolve integration failures, performance issues, and data quality problems

Project Management & Product Ownership
  • Act as technical product owner for enterprise application initiatives; gather requirements from GTM stakeholders, translate business needs into technical specifications, and prioritize feature requests
  • Create detailed technical documentation including integration architecture diagrams, data flow maps, API specifications, and user guides for enterprise applications
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination; develop test plans, manage UAT execution with business users, track defects, and ensure successful production deployment
  • Build product roadmaps for enterprise applications in collaboration with stakeholders; balance technical debt, new feature requests, and operational maintenance needs

Salesforce Administration & Configuration
  • Create Salesforce product roadmap to support enterprise application integrations, including custom objects, fields, validation rules, process builders, flows, and permission sets
  • Manage complex Salesforce data models spanning multiple custom objects and relationships; ensure data integrity and optimize for reporting and integration performance
  • Create and maintain Salesforce reports, dashboards, and list views to provide visibility into enterprise application data and integration health for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators to ensure alignment on data governance, security model, and platform best practices across all enterprise integrations

Data Governance & Quality Assurance
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards for enterprise applications including data dictionaries, field definitions, validation rules, and master data management policies
  • Own data quality for all enterprise application integrations; implement automated data validation, cleansing routines, and exception handling to ensure data accuracy

Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
  • 4-6 years of experience in Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Salesforce administration, or technical product management roles with heavy integration/systems focus
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems using iPaaS platforms (Workato strongly preferred; Zapier, MuleSoft, or similar also acceptable)
  • Deep Salesforce knowledge including data model, security model, automation tools (Flow, Process Builder), custom objects, and API capabilities; Salesforce Administrator certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of API concepts including REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, API keys), rate limiting, and error handling
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting; experience querying databases and understanding relational data models
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, transformation, and mapping exercises (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, or financial services environments with complex revenue operations and compliance requirements
  • Understanding of revenue operations workflows including lead-to-opportunity, customer onboarding, and renewal processes

Key Competencies
  • Systems thinker with ability to understand complex technical architectures and how systems interact across the enterprise technology stack
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally across Engineering, Product, Operations, and GTM teams to deliver shared outcomes
  • Self-starter with strong ownership mentality; able to take ambiguous requirements and deliver complete solutions with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; able to diagnose integration failures, data issues, and performance problems methodically
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality, security best practices, and technical documentation
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and requirements evolve
  • Product mindset with focus on user experience, scalability, and long-term maintainability of technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Workato certification or extensive hands-on experience building production-grade integrations in Workato
  • Salesforce Admin Certification
  • Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran) and understanding of ELT/ETL patterns
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices for integration deployments
  • Experience with credit underwriting platforms, entity management systems, or financial services applications
  • Exposure to Agile product management tools (Jira, Asana, Linear) and product development lifecycle
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, JavaScript) for data transformation and automation tasks
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia) and debugging integration issues
  • Previous experience in a technical product management or business systems analyst role

This is an exciting opportunity to build and scale the enterprise application ecosystem for a growing Revenue Operations team. If you're passionate about building elegant technical solutions, thrive at the intersection of RevOps and Product, and want to make a measurable impact on revenue-critical systems, we'd love to hear from you.
