Job description

The primary focus of this position is to provide Galapagos Rockford scholars with a rich tapestry of experiential programming.ย  This programming will take place as after school programming, summer opportunities (Project Passport), , Galapagos on Broadway programs, special trips/events. Enrichment programming and related activities will take up 85% of the individual's time and energy. The remaining 15% will be involved in special projects involving alumni and parents.

This position requires the Enrichment Manager to chaperone scholars on multiple trips out of state and at least one trip out of country each year.ย  Most of the trips will occur in the summer.

The Enrichment Manager will work and travel between our two campuses. The hours for this position will not be typical school hours; a later start and end time, occasional weekend hours, and supervision of special events should be expected.ย  This is a year-round position.

  • Develop and Manage all After School X (ASX) programming with a goal of diverse participation amongst grades, genders and ethnicities.
  • Plan ASX programming for a full school year
  • Develop new programming to meet identified needs
  • Work with staff to develop quality programming with defined scopes and sequences
  • Coordinate with GRCS staff as well as third party vendors to ensure staffing and logistics
  • Design and implement visual recruitment campaigns
  • Market programming to the GRCS community (develop booklets, social media, signage).
  • Meet with existing families at school events and during school day to promote programming.
  • Create and manage an organized recruitment program on an ongoing basis
  • Manage day to day operations of the programming
  • Observe programming on a daily basis
  • Evaluate programming with the goal of improving quality and variety of offering
  • Manage programming within a defined budget
  • Procure supplies as needed
  • Maintain scholar attendance and staff records
  • Track documents and payments for programs
  • Coordinate shuttle services and other logistics
  • Arrange logistics for Project Passport Programming to both domestic and international locations.
  • Liaison with appropriate contacts and Manage current programming partners.
  • Reach out to current funder base as well as develop new funders for programming
  • Coordinate all special event programming for the school
  • Design and implement parent involvement activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate major school events each year
  • Assist the Administration in preparing for all additional school events including but not limited to parent orientations, open house, school openings, professional development events, athletic events, volunteer events, fundraising events and graduation

Qualifications:

  • Three years or more in a high-paced customer service environment with some experience in operations.
  • At least two years of experience working in a charter, traditional public, or private school teaching or engaged in school operations is preferred but not required.ย  Other youth programming experience will also be considered.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Office programs as well as other programs requiring technical proficiency
  • Strong communication skills: in person, over the phone, and in writing
  • College degree is required- Bachelors or higher is preferred.
  • Passport or ability to obtain a passport by November 2026.
