Please visit our DOTD Career Center for more information about our agency: http://wwwsp.dotd.la.gov/Inside_LaDOTD/Divisions/Mgmt_Finance/HR/Pages/Career_Center.aspx Minimum Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience; OR Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience; OR Twenty-four semester hours in one of the following specialized fields: architecture, cartography, construction management, construction technology, drafting, engineering, engineering graphics, engineering technology, industrial technology, landscape architecture, math, or physics; OR A bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction management or construction technology. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Works with Location and Survey specific GPS Real Time Network (RTN), Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and Static Equipment
Provides expert technical advice to the Surveyor Supervisor, DOTD Surveyor Administrator and the Location and Survey Automation, Photogrammetry, and LiDAR units. Contacts property owners along project to advise them of the proposed survey activities and obtains permission to enter upon private property to conduct the survey. Works with Surveyor Supervisor, Surveyor Manager, and survey crews to coordinate and schedule projects for obtaining topographic survey data.
Coordinates control project assignments with location survey party chiefs and field supervisors on projects requiring establishment of new horizontal and vertical control and verification of existing control. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a promotion or Detail to Special Duty and is only open to current permanent status classified DOTD employees.
